8 Bags, 2 Kids, and a Whole New Life

🛫 Immigration... it brings heaps of excitement, but let's be honest, it's not easy, especially when you're packing for a family with young kids (think chaos, endless snacks, and forgotten teddy bears)!
We took the plunge and crammed our entire lives into just 8 bags of 23 kg each. Months of tough decisions, heartfelt goodbyes (especially to my precious high heels), and endless debates about what truly makes the cut went into every single bag.
Trust me, deciding what had to stay behind felt like a never-ending game of emotional Tetris. And just when you think you've nailed it, along comes the dreaded luggage weigh-in! Sjoe, that was a whole other game... you're convinced you've hit the limit, then one of the kids sneaks some things into the bags unnoticed, and BAM! Suddenly, you're 8 kg over! Definitely not the fee you want to face at the boarding gate.
But finally, landing on the other side made every tricky decision totally worth it.
My advice? Keep it simple. Prioritize the absolute essentials, sentimental items, and things that genuinely bring joy. Let go of the small stuff, you'll quickly realize those things weren't as important as you thought.
Pro Tip: Lock and wrap your bags for extra security!
