You will also require the following documents upon your arrival in the Netherlands:

• Valid Drivers Licence (for you and your partner/spouse):
  If you qualify for the 30% ruling you can exchange your South African driver's licences for Dutch ones but the licences need to be valid when exchanging them. If your licence is due to expire within 6 months of arriving in NL we suggest you first renew your licence in South Africa.

• Police Clearance Certificate:
  This is often required from employers here in the Netherlands and is not a requirement for your visa or BSN application. The simplest and fastest route is to request a police clearance certificate while you're still in South Africa while you gather the rest of your documentation.
