Software Test Engineer

Our client believes that testing without AI is no longer aligned with the way modern digital solutions are built. As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of digital solutions - smart, scalable and increasingly AI-driven.

You will work closely with your team, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that what is being built is not only technically sound but also delivers real value to the end user.

Your impact:

Human in the loop remains essential. As an AI-driven Test Engineer, you will be a driving force behind quality within your team and part of the client’s test guild. You look beyond a traditional testing approach and actively use AI to test smarter, faster, and more effectively. At the same time, you remain in control as the tester: you critically assess AI output and translate it into usable test scenarios, test data and test automation.

You will be working on:

• Designing and supporting AI-assisted test strategies

• Analysing requirements and translating them into smart testing approaches

• Setting up automated tests and AI-driven test generation

• Creating test data and scenarios for complex and critical use cases

• Identifying and implementing improvements in testing processes

• Safeguarding quality in systems with multiple integrations and dependencies

• You will use AI to analyse user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria more efficiently, and to identify uncertainties and risks at an early stage. This shifts your role from simply checking afterwards to thinking ahead: using AI to gain faster insights and make better choices in your testing approach.

You will use AI tooling for:

• Test case generation and optimisation

• Faster defect detection and root cause analysis

• Testing AI and agentic systems, such as validating outputs, behaviour, and reliability of AI agents

• Smart regression testing

• Increasing test coverage with minimal manual effort

In this role, you are not only testing - you are continuously helping to evolve the testing discipline.

• Experience in Agile environments with multiple stakeholders

• Experience with test automation, for example, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Robot Framework, or similar tools

• Experience, and affinity for, working with AI - this may also be in a personal setting, such as experimenting with tooling, prompting, and automation

• You are curious and actively developing your knowledge of AI within the testing field

• Strong communication skills and a strong sense of ownership

• Certifications such as ISTQB or TMAP are a plus
