Senior Cloud Engineer

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and securing cloud environments within our organization and for our clients. This role requires extensive expertise in Microsoft 365, EntraID, Microsoft Defender for Business, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), and Azure.

The position calls for a strategic and advisory mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business goals into robust cloud solutions. In addition, the Senior Cloud Engineer acts as a mentor and coach for Medior and Junior Cloud Engineers and plays a key role in innovation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization.

• Azure management: Proactively manage and optimize Azure services, including networking, security, automation, and identity management.

• Security and compliance: Define and implement security strategies for cloud environments, including identity & access management, threat detection, and incident response. This includes conducting regular security audits and keeping security protocols up to date.

• Automation and innovation: Develop automated solutions using scripting to streamline deployment and management processes.

• Troubleshooting: Quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues within cloud architectures, provide support during incidents, and minimize downtime.

• Mentoring and knowledge sharing: Actively contribute to the development of Medior and Junior Cloud Engineers through training, documentation, and coaching.

• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Cloud Technology, or a related discipline, with a strong focus on cloud and network technologies.

• Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role, with proven expertise in Microsoft 365, EntraID, Microsoft Defender for Business, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), and Azure.

• Technical skills: In-depth knowledge of cloud architectures and best practices. Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals, with a willingness to share knowledge and collaborate on solutions.

• Strong organizational skills, able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform in a dynamic environment.

Additional Qualifications

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert are a plus.

• Experience with scripting for task and configuration automation.

• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile is an advantage.

• Experience with ITIL4.

• Experience with Autotask PSA, RMM, and IT Glue (or comparable tools) is a plus.
