Senior Data Architect

As a Senior Data Architect, you play a crucial role within our clients' Data Solutions cell. This group consists of over 40 consultants, office & operational management plus 3 sales heroes who are all dedicated to assisting their clients with their data challenges. In this role, you'll work with tools, tech stacks, and methodologies such as Python, SQL, GIT, data modeling, Java, and, of course, Agile/Scrum to design and build data platforms in the AWS, GCP, and/or Azure cloud.

As a consultant, you will provide valuable insights into the data landscape for their clients, thereby adding value to both existing and new business processes. Due to your technical expertise, consultancy & leadership skills, you are seen by both clients and colleagues as a true guru within the data domain!

Besides establishing the architecture, you design and build logical and physical data models. With the help of data manipulation and transformation using complex ETL & ELT pipelines, your models are filled with high-quality clean data. Based on the strategy you formulate, you decide how the infrastructure will be automated using various DevOps tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, in collaboration with your team of data consultants at every level. With tight CI/CD pipelines and git, you ensure that code can be deployed rapidly.

In summary, your tasks & responsibilities include:

• Setting a long-term vision in the area of data architecture, thereby creating concrete added value for the business objectives of various Enterprise clients. In this, you have an advisory role to develop and implement data-driven strategies

• Translating requirements from both internal and external stakeholders into scalable, tailor-made solutions. Planning, setting priorities, and thereby making the right considerations in the development process

• Designing the data landscape and supporting developers in its implementation

• Playing a key role in mentorship for colleagues of various levels. In collaboration with other architects, you share 'Best practices', vision on data architectures, matters such as self-service, and the future of automation

Apply immediately if you have sufficient enthusiasm, ambition and recognise yourself in the following points:

• Completed tertiary qualification in Data, IT, or a related field

• At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience in data-related fields, such as data engineering, data architecture, or data science

• Proficiency in Python and Java, along with strong capabilities in SQL for database management and data modeling to design logical and physical data structures

• Familiarity with deploying and managing data platforms on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure, and using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automation

• Ability to design and implement complex ETL & ELT pipelines for data processing, skilled use of GIT for version control, and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project management

• You have the will to continue to develop on both hard and soft skills

• Excellent communication skills, written as well as verbal

• Fluent in Afrikaans/basic Dutch and English
