Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer our client, you will hold an important role within the Data Solutions cell. This consists of 40+ consultants, and management who are all committed to their customers. Think of parties like Postnl, Bol. Simon Loos where you will be working with tools, tech stacks and methodologies such as Python, SQL, GIT, data-modeling, Java, and of course Agile/Scrum, to design and build data platforms in the AWS, GCP, and/or Azure cloud.

As a consultant, you will thus provide valuable insights into the data landscape of their customers and add value to existing and new business processes. Because of your technical expertise, consultancy & leadership skills you will be seen by both clients and colleagues as a true guru within the data domain!

You design and build logical and physical data models. Using data manipulation and transformation with complex ETL & ELT pipelines, your models are filled with qualitatively clean data. Together with the architect, you determine how the infrastructure will be automated using various DevOps tools such as Terraform or Cloudformation. In collaboration with your team, consisting of data consultants of every level, you ensure with tight CI/CD pipelines and git that code can be deployed at lightning speed.

• Completed tertiary qualification in Data or a related field

• At least 5 years' hands-on experience in Data Science (including analytics, architecture, engineering, warehousing and , modeling) within a consulting capacity 

• Hands-on experience with AWS native services (S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS, EC2, etc), Azure and Google Cloud Platform is a nice-to-have

• Knowledge of and experience with ETL, Priority Setting, Python, CI/CD pipelines, SQL, Git

• You have the will to continue to develop on both hard and soft skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Fluent in Afrikaans/basic Dutch and English
