Senior IT Product Lead AI Platform

Our client is looking for a Senior IT Product Lead to drive the development and optimization of their AI platform. This platform is the foundation for all AI initiatives within the company, supporting solutions in customer service, marketing automation, and network operations. It is a hybrid environment, consisting of on-premise servers with high-performance GPUs and cloud-based solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

The Senior IT Product Lead will play a critical role in designing a scalable, cost-efficient, and high-performing AI platform, ensuring that all AI products are built and executed seamlessly. This position involves strategic decision-making regarding where workflows should be processed—on-premise or in the cloud—balancing privacy, scalability, and cost.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI platform management, particularly within a commercial environment, and experience in bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the AI platform roadmap, prioritizing features based on business impact, technical feasibility, and user needs.

• Ensure all AI products have a scalable and cost-efficient platform to execute on.

• Optimize AI infrastructure costs while maintaining high performance.

• Make strategic decisions on data processing locations (local vs. cloud) based on privacy, scalability, and cost factors.

• Drive reusability of solutions across multiple AI products. Balance new feature development with ongoing technical improvements and maintenance.

• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning efforts across data science, data engineering, and business functions.

• Stay updated on emerging GenAI technologies and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.

• Collaborate closely with CRM (Salesforce), Voice/Routing (Genesys), and the Chatbot team to integrate AI capabilities effectively.

About the Team:

The Senior IT Product Lead will head the AI Platform team, which plays a crucial role in leveraging AI capabilities across automation, support, and analytics. This role sits within the Data Science team, part of the Digital IT department, working with a diverse, multinational team.

The AI Platform team is currently expanding and includes Data Engineers and Data Scientists. The role requires close collaboration with multiple business units, including Mass Market, Customer Operations, Enterprise, and Network, to ensure the AI platform supports their needs effectively.

This role provides end-to-end responsibility in maximizing GenAI capabilities for both employees and customers, making it a pivotal position within the company’s AI strategy.

• 3-6 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably managing a platform.

• At least 2 years of experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in an advisory, consultancy, or product owner capacity.

• Strong business acumen combined with technical expertise in delivering high-quality digital products.

• Extensive experience with Agile methodologies and working in Agile environments.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts for various stakeholders.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.

• Proven ability to balance cloud and on-premise AI infrastructure, optimizing for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including cost management and scalability strategies.

• Experience operating Generative AI on-premise.

• Understanding of how to integrate cloud and local servers into a high-performing AI platform.
