    Maintenance specialist (Workum)

    Junior (1 - 3 yrs)

    This role

    As an OT Engineer, you are a connecting link between the production sites and the rapidly changing environment, both within the company and outside, in the field of industrial automation. You ensure that Workum continues to meet the latest standards in the field of cybersecurity, network design, and all hardware and software regarding the control of installations. With this, you guarantee the availability and reliability of the plants for the long term. You can identify and address necessary improvements. You help to design the technical implementation of the resulting projects, you supervise their implementation where necessary, and you check them upon delivery. The flat organization in Workum means that the monitoring of several other processes and standards is also part of your duties, for example in the field of E&I. 

    Important in the role of OT Engineer is to continue the change from basic condition to smart factory together with the TD team. In doing so, you will take the organization into continuous improvement and work towards a proactive way of working. You will work closely with the departments: Safety, Production, Technology, Projects and QA. You are partly responsible for improving and maintaining safety and food safe working practices. In this role you will be able to leverage the internal OT organization in terms of best practices. As an OT Engineer, you will report to the Manager Maintenance.

    Some of your responsibilities would include: 

    • Securing requirements from laws and regulations in discipline standards and documentation.

    • Ensuring that the latest standards regarding cybersecurity are implemented at both locations.

    • Providing input for (strategic) improvement proposals within your discipline for an optimal balance in future installation performance, risks and costs.

    • Advising on policy regarding future technological developments.

    • Providing input for a long-term OT master plan for both locations, in which the above-mentioned issues but also necessary replacements including risk and life cycle costs are reflected.

    • Executing ITIL processes regarding OT.

    • Increased availability of the installations regarding OT.

    • Prepare and execute projects and modifications within your own discipline based on a project approach.

    • Support and advise in multidisciplinary projects and process optimizations.

    • Assist with complex failure analysis and ensure training of maintenance personnel in OT.

    • Responsible for instrumentation (level 2, 1 and 0). Hereby ensuring availability, reliability and a validated status.

    • Responsible for setting up and managing SLAs, including with external parties, for applications, servers and networks.

    This role is based in Workum, a location that's part of the Ingredients business group where ingredients for baby food are produced. With approximately 55 colleagues, we make various powder products to which the strictest hygiene and safety requirements apply. Continuous improvement in all areas, including Technology, is an absolute spearhead.

    Function criteria

    • A completed tertiary qualification in electrical engineering/control engineering, industrial automation or ICT.

    • 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar position within the food and/or process industry, automotive, or industrial automation projects.

    • Demonstrable experience with troubleshooting/ focused (continuous) improvement in a production environment.

    • Knowledge of the DCS software control systems Siemsens Step 7, TIA portal, and ABB-Sattline-Foocos.

    • Knowledge of ISA95 and E&I.

    • You are eager to learn, easily establish contacts with external parties, are able to lead larger projects, and can work independently under general supervision.

    • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English at all levels.

    • You are accurate, analytical, structured, proactive, innovative and have perseverance.
