Operational Technology Engineer

We are seeking a passionate and skilled OT Engineer to join our client's Operational Technology (OT) team within Technical Services in Borculo. As an OT Engineer, you will be an integral part of our OT team, ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of automation systems within our factory. Your expertise will make you a critical point of contact for specific areas of automation, based on your experience and specialization.
The OT department comprises approximately 10 specialists who oversee the entire OT landscape in Borculo. This team includes three OT Engineers focusing on standards and long-term developments, along with other control engineers and external partners dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the plant operations. All team members report to the Manager OT and belong to the Technical Department, which consists of around 50 employees.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Effectiveness and Improvement: Ensure the efficiency and enhancement of automated business processes, while developing and maintaining a long-term vision for automation.
Troubleshooting and Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of complex hardware and software issues, including client/server systems, hosting, networks, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and MES.
Technology Updates: Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology to keep their systems cutting-edge.
Central Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders regarding automation, providing expert advice and support.
Lifecycle Management: Apply lifecycle management practices to the OT asset register.
Software Change Management: Oversee software change management, ensuring all changes and modifications are documented and controlled.
ITIL Procedure Implementation: Play a key role in implementing ITIL procedures within the organization.
Cybersecurity Optimization: Enhance and optimize cybersecurity measures within the OT domain, addressing an increasingly critical aspect of our operations.

Function criteria
To be successful as a OT Engineer you bring along the following and a dose of energy:
3 years experience in a similar position within industrial automation or similar. Preferably in the food or pharmacy industry
Provident OT knowledge in the field of:
Network systems (Profinet/-bus, hosting, firewall configuration)
Complex instrumentation
Factory automation (GE/ProLeiT&Siemens/Foxboro/SQL)
Cyber security
Knowledge of automation in the areas of Server and PC systems (VMware, Microsoft Windows environment) and Industrial Networking
Knowledge of Industrial automation ISA-95 level 1, 2 & 3
Knowledge of ITIL Processes (for OT)
Customer and result-oriented, analytical, collaborative, creative, and accurate
Social and communication strong and you have a keen awareness of safety and quality
